What is Drata?

Drata calls itself an agentic trust management platform. It connects to your infrastructure, collects evidence automatically and monitors controls across frameworks. Its pricing page describes three company stages: startup, growth and enterprise.

  • Compliance automation: evidence collection and control monitoring, with a test library of 1,000+ infrastructure tests for AWS, Azure and GCP.

  • Frameworks: SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, GDPR, HIPAA and PCI DSS on its product page, plus DORA, FedRAMP, CMMC and custom frameworks. Its Q1 2026 update added CCPA 2026 and ISO 27701:2025.

  • Trust Center: a self-serve portal where buyers review your security posture and request documents, built on SafeBase, which Drata agreed to acquire in February 2025.

  • AI Questionnaire Assistance: drafts answers from approved trust content, including a Chrome extension for vendor portals.

  • Third-party risk: an agentic assessment reads vendor documents such as SOC 2 reports, maps them to your criteria and cites its sources, while humans make the final decision.

  • Devices and people: the Drata Agent reports device security posture daily, and Drata offers its own embedded security awareness training.

Drata is a strong product. Its trust center and vendor risk tools are mature, and it serves companies from first audit to enterprise GRC.

What is NexusVoid?

NexusVoid is an autonomous CISO for startups. It runs the security program for you, finds and fixes real risk, and files the proof against your compliance controls as it goes. If you have no CISO, it acts as your CISO. If you have a CISO or vCISO, it automates most of their work.

  • Argus (application security posture management): starts outside-in like an attacker, with no credentials or installs needed to begin, then moves inward through code, dependencies, cloud and secrets. It covers SAST, SCA and secrets scanning; produces SBOM, AIBOM, CBOM and HBOM; maps findings to MITRE ATT&CK with attack paths; and prices risk in dollars using FAIR.

  • Aegis (compliance automation): SOC 2, ISO 27001, DPDP, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act on shared controls, so one control serves many frameworks. It adds tailored policies, automatic evidence from cloud, GitHub, identity and devices, a risk register, vendor management, questionnaires answered from evidence, a trust center, a device agent, training and auditor-ready exports.

  • Striker (vulnerability assessment and pentest): pay per scan, 20+ tools, covering web, API, cloud and mobile, with a report in under 60 minutes.

Everything runs on one loop: Detect, Prove, Resolve, Test, Verify. Each finding gets an owner, a fix as a pull request plus a paste-ready prompt for coding assistants, and a retest on merge, then is filed as evidence against the right control.

What is the key difference between NexusVoid and Drata?

The key difference is the starting point. Drata starts from governance and trust: which controls you need, whether they pass, how you prove that to auditors and buyers, and how you assess your own vendors. Vulnerability data comes in from scanners you connect.

NexusVoid starts from what an attacker can reach. It scans from the outside in, tests, fixes through pull requests and retests, and the compliance evidence is a result of that work. With a security team, Drata gives them a strong GRC layer. Without one, NexusVoid does the work itself.

Does Drata include penetration testing?

Drata’s public product pages cover GRC, compliance automation, the trust center, questionnaires and third-party risk. Penetration testing is not listed as a Drata product, so Drata customers typically hire a separate testing firm and add the report as evidence.

For vulnerabilities, Drata imports findings from scanners and links them to controls and risk workflows. In its Q1 2026 update it added an Upwind Security integration and made Orca Security scanning generally available.

NexusVoid runs the testing itself. Argus scans from the outside in, then through code, dependencies, cloud and secrets. Striker runs pentests across web, API, cloud and mobile, priced per scan, with a report in under 60 minutes.

Either way, ask your auditor and largest prospects what kind of pentest they will accept. Some require an independent third-party report.

Which compliance frameworks do NexusVoid and Drata support?

Drata lists several frameworks NexusVoid does not, including FedRAMP, CMMC, DORA, ISO 42001, ISO 27701 and CCPA, plus custom frameworks.

NexusVoid covers SOC 2, ISO 27001, DPDP, GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST CSF, NIST AI RMF and the EU AI Act. Both use a shared-control model, so adding a framework reuses existing controls and evidence.

Is Drata or NexusVoid better for a startup?

For most startups, the deciding factor is whether anyone on the team owns security day to day.

  • Choose NexusVoid if you have no CISO or security engineer and need real testing, prioritized fixes and compliance evidence from one place.

  • Choose Drata if you already have security staff and tools, and want a mature platform for compliance, trust and vendor risk that can grow into enterprise GRC.

On NexusVoid, early-stage startups get Argus, Aegis and Striker. Growth and scale-stage startups get Your Autonomous CISO, the full 22-module program.

When Drata is the better fit

  • You need FedRAMP, CMMC, DORA, ISO 42001 or ISO 27701 support.

  • You have a mature security team and want enterprise GRC across business units and regions.

  • Your sales motion depends on a polished trust center and high-volume questionnaire work.

  • You assess many vendors and want AI-assisted third-party risk reviews.

  • You already have pentest and scanning vendors you trust.

How NexusVoid works alongside or instead of Drata

Instead of Drata: NexusVoid replaces a compliance platform plus separate scanners and pentest vendors. Aegis covers frameworks, evidence, policies, vendor management, questionnaires and a trust center, and Argus and Striker do the testing.

Alongside Drata: if Drata already runs your audits, Argus and Striker can sit next to it as the security testing layer. Drata stays your system of record for GRC, and NexusVoid finds, proves and fixes the issues that matter to an attacker.

Frequently asked questions

Is NexusVoid a Drata alternative?

Yes, for startups that need the security work done, not only tracked. Aegis covers the compliance side: frameworks, automatic evidence, policies, vendor management, questionnaires and a trust center. NexusVoid adds attack surface and code scanning with Argus and pentesting with Striker, and runs the program for you. If you need FedRAMP, CMMC or DORA, Drata covers frameworks NexusVoid does not.

Does Drata include penetration testing?

Penetration testing is not listed among Drata’s products on its website. Drata focuses on compliance, trust and risk, and imports vulnerability findings from connected scanners such as Orca Security and Upwind. Most Drata customers hire a separate pentest firm. Confirm with Drata what integrations and partners are available for your plan.

How much does Drata cost compared with NexusVoid?

Neither publishes prices. As listed on its site in October 2026, Drata asks you to contact sales and describes startup, growth and enterprise stages rather than priced tiers. NexusVoid prices by stage too: early-stage startups get Argus, Aegis and Striker, and growth-stage startups get the full 22-module Your Autonomous CISO program. Striker pentests are pay per scan.

Can I use NexusVoid with Drata?

Yes. If Drata already manages your compliance program, you can add Argus for continuous application security and Striker for on-demand pentests. Drata stays your GRC system, and NexusVoid handles testing, fixes delivered as pull requests, and retests. If you later want one platform, Aegis covers compliance automation.

Which is faster to a first SOC 2 audit?

Both automate evidence collection and policies, which removes most of the manual work. Speed depends more on how quickly your team fixes gaps than on the tool. NexusVoid helps there by delivering fixes as pull requests and retesting on merge. Neither product can guarantee an audit result: your auditor decides.
